About Sollis Health
Founded in 2016, Sollis is a healthcare services business that is revolutionizing emergency medicine and urgent care. Our 24/7 concierge medical centers can handle acute medical emergencies, advanced imaging needs and simple complaints all in a single location with no wait, so patients receive the smart, simple and stress-free care they deserve. Our Manhattan clinics are located on the Upper East Side, Tribeca, in the Hamptons during the summer. Expansion to LA is scheduled for Fall 2020.

We now serve 3,500+ members and have an extraordinarily high renewal rate, because we treat everyone like family and go the extra mile in an often inefficient industry. We are a fast-growing, VC-backed organization that is rapidly expanding across the country. We are looking for energetic and passionate self-starters who are excited about healthcare and want to raise the standards for excellent emergency and urgent care.

Your responsibilities
Sollis is expanding into the LA market and will be establishing our first medical center in Beverly Hills. Our job as concierge clinicians is to be there for members when they have medical emergencies, but want an alternative to the wait times and varying quality of an emergency room. We are the private resource patients come to for extraordinary care, 24 hours a day.

We are looking for a talented, ambitious medical leader to build out our Los Angeles practice. This role will oversee medical care in the LA practice and work closely with the Medical Director, as well as the management team in New York HQ. It requires a strong blend of medical expertise, clinical and operational management skills, and the ability to promote an exciting new medical service. The position will report to the Medical Director at our Beverly Hills location at 153 1/2 North Hamilton Drive.

Specifically, your duties will include:

  • Patient Care – The Assistant Medical Director serves as a medical leader of the practice, taking on a set number of clinical shifts to care for patients, especially when the practice is first established. Ensure that Sollis patients receive the highest levels of medical care and attention, and that all medical staff on our team provide the same.
  • Care coordination – Ensure patients receive the follow up care they need after a clinic visit, helping the Medical Director to build out a full Care Navigation team in time. This team ensures patients see the right specialists, facilitates hospital admissions when needed, and provides advocacy and research support to patients.
  • Training – Working in conjunction with HQ, the Medical Director and Practice Manager, create ongoing medical training to keep clinicians compliant with Sollis medical procedures, wait times short, and ensure patients receive the highest standards of care.
  • Radiology & Lab management – Working closely with the Practice Manager, ensure that our patients have 24/7 access to all imaging modalities (XRay, CT, MRI, ultrasound) as well as our full suite of lab tests, with little to no wait for both the procedures and reads/results.
  • Hiring & team building – Work closely with the Medical Director to hire a team of doctors, PA, Nurses, X-ray Technicians/MA, and care coordination staff to serve our patient base.
  • Scheduling – Work closely with the Medical Director and Practice Director to create a coverage schedule that ensures our patients can access medical services 24/7/365 (plus housecalls)
  • Establish Sollis as LA’s premier medical destination for high-end emergent and urgent care:
    • In conjunction with the Medical Director, create a network of specialists in major medical specialties (neuro, ortho, cardio, etc) who we can rely on to take our patients as specialist referrals are needed
    • Cement relationships with LA primary care physicians and major local hospitals, including Cedars Sinai, UCLA & others
  • Build the practice, then manage it day to day – This is a job that will evolve over time. Since we are building the practice from scratch, at first the Assistant MD role will center around clinic operations – setting up a new clinical space, building a strong network of physician partners, hiring the right medical team, putting all medical procedures and operations in place, and ensuring excellent communication among the teams and departments. Over 12- 24 months as the practice grows, the role will transition into day to day management, with a focus on ensuring exceptional medical care for patients. The ideal candidate will be able to excel during both phases of the business, and will shape the practice’s evolution from startup to steady state.

To be successful in this role, candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • First and foremost, the Assistant Medical Director must be an exceptional ER physician or Chief Resident with fantastic clinical and operational skills and a warm bedside manner
  • Entrepreneurial nature, excited to build a pioneering healthcare delivery model
  • Above and beyond customer service ethic
  • Strong technical and systems skills – ability to manage performance management software, compliance databases, and simple financial models.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally among departments and teams
  • Strong selling skills and the ability to promote Sollis and elevate our brand among the medical community
  • Ownership and accountability – a “buck stops here” attitude, happy to take ownership for medical projects and problems and make sure they are executed to the highest standards
  • Career-oriented individual, searching for unlimited opportunities
  • Ability to think and work independently, effectively, and efficiently as if running your own business
  • Ambitious, strong work ethic, and open to new ideas

The ideal candidate will possess the following background:

  • Highly skilled ER Physician or Chief Resident who has spent significant time working in emergency departments, urgent care centers or a concierge medical practice
  • Operational driven mindset, with advanced technological skills
  • A strong track record of getting things done within a medical team or division
  • Has a passion for engineering efficiency and a better care model in the healthcare space
  • Strong understanding of the concierge medical space preferred
